The Tanach, with the evidence built in
This is the complete Hebrew Bible in the Jewish Publication Society translation. Wherever a real archaeological find bears on the text, those words are underlined in gold✦. Hover over them or tap them to see the artifact and what it confirms. From there, Next find takes you to the next underline, so you can tour a whole book’s evidence, and the share button turns the verse into an image.
Each chapter lists its finds under its title, and the chapter picker shows how many finds every book and chapter has. The AA button sets the text size, light or dark, and English, Hebrew, or the two together.
Psalm 142
1A maskil of David, while he was in the cave. A prayer.
2I cry aloud to the LORD;I appeal to the LORD loudly for mercy.
3I pour out my complaint before Him;I lay my trouble before Him
4when my spirit fails within me.You know my course;they have laid a trap in the path I walk.
5Look at my right and see—I have no friend;there is nowhere I can flee,no one cares about me.
6So I cry to You, O LORD;I say, “You are my refuge, all I have in the land of the living.”
7Listen to my cry, for I have been brought very low;save me from my pursuers, for they are too strong for me.
8Free me from prison, that I may praise Your name. The righteous shall glory in mefor Your gracious dealings with me.
